Adam + Karis

Wedding

June 28, 2013

He stood at the front of that chapel, smiling confidently at each bridesmaid as they walked down the aisle one by one. Followed next by the flower girls (which was delivered fresh that morning by the guys offering the Best flower delivery Mississauga), shy-smiling as they dropped single rose petals from their matching white wicker baskets, they made their way one at a time down the pristine white aisle runner. As the third and final flower girl took her place at the alter, the piano music transposed into the powerful chorus of How Great Thou Art, and the chapel doors flung open revealing a stunning bride in the arm of her father, leading her to her beaming groom.

Adam + Karis had been preparing for this moment for so long, and the power of what was about to take place, the joining of two families into one, was felt by every person in that overflowing chapel.

One of the most amazing things about this day was that it truly wasn’t about their recognition or glory. Adam + Karis desired more than anything, that this day, and the countless days of their marriage to come, would focus solely and completely on the power and goodness of Christ and His working in bringing the two of them together. This was the day that the Lord had made, and Adam + Karis rejoiced along with generations of loved ones, both young and old, who had played an integral part in preparing them for this new chapter. It was a blessed day in every way, leaving guests with full hearts and aching cheekbones from the ear to ear smiles and unending joy that filled the day.

Ohhhh Adam + Karis, where do I begin? :) Thank you a thousand times over for allowing me the honor of capturing the sweet memories of your wedding day, thank you for welcoming me into your lives and making me feel like family, AND thank you for being so completely in love and ridiculously easy to photograph. ;) My deepest love and sincerest congratulations to you, sweet newly-weds! I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites from your wedding day!! Xoxo!

Karis’ family is originally from the south, so of course, she had to incorporate some southern elements into their day. LOVED the monogrammed shirts she gifted her girls…

Beautiful!!

What a sweet, gorgeous group of girls!

Ok so I have to rave about the talent in this family for a second… Karis’ mom made ALL of the bridal bouquets, and Karis’ sister, Olivia, sewed the flower girl dresses! Crazy!

Oh Karis… you’re breathtaking.

Nice, guys!

Karis has six siblings, and Peter is the youngest. His relationship with Adam is so dear…

Now THAT is the face of a man that is ready to see his bride and be married!!

A prayer before the ceremony…

And then it was ceremony time!

Joy, joy JOY…

A high-five, a kiss, and then they were…

MARRIED!!

Ok seriously… that is one awesome bridal party!

Ha, so fun! Humble super heroes in disguise… ;)

Some portraits of the newly minted Mr. & Mrs…

LOVE!

If you remember their engagement session, you’ll remember that we kind of have a thing for weeping willow trees… ;)

I think this was their “we’re MARRIED” face… ;)

Any bride that’s willing and excited to sit in a wheat field in her wedding dress for the sake of awesome pictures is my kinda bride. ;)

Reception TIME!!

Such a GORGEOUS cake!!

So for fun when Karis was growing up, her family would pretend they were athletes getting announced at a major sporting event. Their uncle would do his best announcer impersonation and the cousins would come sprinting into the living room, dancing and cheering. Needless to say, every one was on their FEET with roaring applause to welcome these two when Karis’ uncle announced them into their reception! ;)

Some sweet and hilarious toasts…

And their first dance as husband and wife…

Which turned midway through into a full-on coordinated bridal party Wobble performance… ;)

Always love the daddy-daughter dance…

Party time!

The last dance of the night with their guests circled around them…

And then they were OFF to their honeymoon in Cancun!!
