They were introduced by mutual friends, but at the time, Josh was living in DC and Erin in Annapolis. Fast forward nine months when they saw each other again and this time, Erin shared with Josh her plans to coincidentally move to DC early the following year. Determined not to miss his chance with this pretty girl from Annapolis, Josh asked her out on the spot…
As she found her home in our nation’s Capitol she also quickly found home in Josh’s heart. She couldn’t help but find herself falling in love with his sense of humor, the fun person he was to be around, but most of all, his big heart. Similarly, every intuition Josh had from the beginning about the beautiful, strong, and kind-hearted woman Erin was, only was confirmed as he grew to know her more and more.
One of Josh + Erin’s favorite things to do is to travel and explore new places together, so they planned a spring getaway trip to New Orleans. As they strolled the crowded streets of Jackson Square, Josh led Erin up to a landing with views of the square, park, and cathedral on one side and the Mississippi River on the other.
Suddenly, a street band nearby started playing their song, and Erin’s face lit up with surprise and delight as she recognized the familiar tune. Josh grinned back at her, then he got down on one knee. Though he’d perfected an entire speech of exactly what he was going to say when he asked this blue-eyed beauty he so deeply loved to be his wife, he was so overcome with emotion in the moment that he didn’t get much out other than “Will you marry me?” Erin couldn’t say yes fast enough…!
Josh + Erin, thank you for showing me around your city, thank you for bringing sunshine to a rainy day, and thank you for trusting me to capture this sweet season of your lives! I can’t WAIT for your Lighthouse Sound wedding in a few weeks! For now, enjoy a few of my favorites from your incredible Jefferson Memorial and The Historical Willard Hotel engagement session! Xo
