Pursuit 31 Conference

Personal

November 11, 2013

Well it’s been a month since one of the most incredible opportunities this little career of mine has presented thus far. Over the past month I have sat down in front of my computer multiple times, determined to write this post. But trying to put my experience at the Pursuit 31 Conference into words is just about impossible because it was almost beyond description. My simple words don’t seem adequate in describing the power of all that God did in so many woman’s lives while there! Amazing. But here’s a little taste of a recap of the conference from my perspective, although it doesn’t even begin to do it justice… ;)

You know, going into the conference, I didn’t know quite what to expect. I had no clue what it would be like, but I figured the discussions would be focused primarily on photography. It is a photography conference anyway!

Well being in this industry, as you can imagine, I am CONSTANTLY reading/hearing/chatting about all things photography… it’s never ending. And I LOVE this stuff — it’s my passion after all. :) However, it was so refreshing hearing all that God put on the speakers’ hearts to open up and share. The conversations shared that week with all of the amazing women left me impacted to the core. Everyone was so vulnerable and real. Running a business can be overwhelming at times and it’s so easy to get caught up in trivial business strategies, but it was so good to be reminded that God calls us to so much more than that. To take time to realign my priorities and be reminded that I have so much more purpose in this life than how many followers I may or may not have or how many hits my blog gets in a week. :) Because at the end of the day, I want to be striving for something of so much more WORTH than that. I just want to be a light for Jesus. Cause He’s really all that truly matters.

Oh my. Obviously there is still so much on my heart! Even though I was a little sad to see such an amazing week come to a close and leave such a beautiful place, I also felt so sooooo ready to get home and put all that the speakers challenged us with into action. :) And I still am working towards that and processing so much. More than anything, I am feeling so thankful for this opportunity to have gone. I am speechless at the goodness of God in providing me a way to go. And to think one incredible person believed in me enough to anonymously gift this conference to me… goodness, I still can’t wrap my mind around that level of generosity!!!

Here are some fun iPhone pictures I snapped throughout the week… they make me smile just looking at them and seeing all my sweet friends! So many happy memories!
