December 17, 2013
Can you BELIEVE it’s December 17th?! Time is flying and Christmas is SO soon. If I’m being honest, I’ve been feeling a little guilty for how quiet this little blog of mine has been the last few weeks. This morning as I was tidying up, I stashed away my to-do list that had been sitting out on my desk. And it hit me: it’s December, nearly one week before Christmas – isn’t that where the to-do list should stay right now… tucked away? I think as business owners and creatives it’s hard for us to “turn off” in terms of our checklist, git-er-done oriented minds. This is our heart and soul… it’s hard NOT to think about what needs to be done or dream of what could be done!
But I just wanted to take a second to remind everyone, and especially myself, to just try to put the to-do list away these next two weeks as much as possible. Close the laptop. Turn some Christmas music on. Open a good book. Enjoy ABC’s Countdown to Christmas. Bake some cookies. Anddd eat them too! ;)
It’s a learning process, but I’m trying to consistently remind myself this season in particular that sometimes accomplishments can’t be marked by a check on a list, but instead come in the peace of knowing that you’re right where you need to be. Not getting caught up in doing, but instead focusing on simply being. Relaxed. Present. At peace. That’s what this season is all about, right? Peace on earth, good will to men.
So here’s to an amazing and restful conclusion to an incredible year focused on what matters most! Hugs!
