Well, it’s 2:56 AM. What am I doing up at 2:56 AM you may ask? Well it’s my prime office hours, of course and I’m prepping tomorrow’s blog post! Haha. Ok I’m half kidding, but some nights, this is my reality! I have classes early tomorrow morning, and will probably be looking like a complete zombie… but honestly? If a few years of late nights is what it takes to build a successful business, it’s worth it. So so worth it. And as Mary Marantz shared at the What’s Next Tour, “It’s the work that makes it worth it.” I believe this whole heartedly.
I’ve been getting more and more emails lately from people wanting to hear more about my story and asking questions about how I run this little business of mine. Now before I say anything, I must say this… I am in NO WAY a business expert. Oh my goodness, I am not! The fact that I am getting emails with people asking for MY advice blows my mind because I am still learning myself in so many ways.
But if I wait until I feel that I am “capable” of responding to these emails giving my advice, well, knowing me, that day will never come because I will always have room for improvement. Always. However, it is only by other photographers in this industry and people encouraging me through their stories that I have gotten to where I am today.
So I have decided to share little peeks into the back side of my business in a series of blog posts from time to time. My mini struggles and triumphs, what has worked and what hasn’t, and little tidbits I’ve learned along the way. If these posts help just ONE person, then it’s worth it to me! Hopefully this can be a little place that we can all learn and grow together! In fact, I could actually use your help! Any ideas on an awesome blog series title for these posts? I am all ears! :)
