It’s amazing what I get to do. Truly. I know sometimes I sound like a broken record, crooning and swooning all day long about how much I love this job. But THIS is my passion… and what is passion if it isn’t being shared?

There’s a heartbeat behind what I do. My “Why.” It goes beyond pretty pictures, perfect composition, or nailed exposures. It’s the emotions. The memories. The fleeting moments that will hang in frames on sacred walls for generations to come, growing dusty as the decades pass. It’s in these times especially that I think, This is it. This is what I’ve been called to do. This is my passion.

And when I remember this “Why” as I’m shooting, that’s when my work represents something so much more than a pretty picture. Something I am truly and completely proud of. This job that we as photographers have matters… and it matters a lot.
