I still remember when they introduced themselves to me at Neal + Lauren’s wedding, telling me that when the time came, they’d be in touch about maternity pictures. Back when this baby was just a twinkle in their eye. I’m pretty sure when I received that message a few months later, there was lots of smiling and excitement involved. ;) You see, there is no question that Matt + Katie are going to make truly amazing parents. Everyone who knows them knows that. I just adored spending the afternoon with them in their home talking about this exciting new chapter ahead! It was so special photographing them in Baby Lebo’s freshly painted nursery… so crazy to think that they’ll be rocking her to sleep in their arms in that same room just a few short months from now! Later we ventured outside to their backyard and even though it was a chilly January day, these two even made standing out in subzero temperatures fun!

As we sat inside visiting afterwards, chatting away about life and business and the future, with hot cocoa in hand, I just felt so thankful to God for placing incredibly good-hearted people like Matt + Katie in my life. People that are filled to the brim with love and hospitality and make my heart so full. Baby Lebo is so blessed to have Matt + Katie as parents… she is just so loved and adored already.

Oh Matt + Katie, THANK YOU. Thank you for trusting me to document this sweet time in your lives. Thank you for welcoming me into your home. And thank you for being so good to me, hot cocoa and all! ;) There aren’t words to express my EXCITEMENT for you guys as you enter this new chapter. I hope you LOVE these pictures now, but I hope they grow more and more dear to you as the years pass and you’re able to look back on this sweet time of excited preparation and expectant waiting for your girl to be in your arms. :) BIG hugs to you both!
