They met at an open gym volleyball night that Jordan had been attending regularly for years, but this particular night he found himself leaving at the same time as a new face he didn’t recognize. Sophie exudes joy and warmth wherever she goes, and conversation with her came easily. So easy that almost an hour later, they still found themselves standing in that church parking lot by their cars talking – just the two of them.
Within two months of dating, they both knew this really was “it.” On a Saturday in September, Jordan ran a marathon and Sophie was there to support him through it and cheer loud for him every chance she got along the way.
But this wasn’t just any normal race. Little did she know, he ran the full 26.2 miles with her engagement ring in his pocket. What better motivation to finish strong than to know he’d be down on one knee proposing to Sophie at the finish line.
With about a half mile remaining, Jordan pulled the ring out of his pocket and grasped it tightly in his hand. The race ended by a river and he kept going past all the finish line tents and crowds of people until he found a nice spot to sit down. According to Jordan, it took him about a minute to even untie one shoe, but by the time his mom and Sophie found him, Sophie helped take off the other. Just then, he asked Sophie to help him up. When she took his hand, he showed her the ring and asked if she would marry him. In total shock, she said YES to the man of her dreams and a lifetime by his side.
Jordan & Sophie, I’m so excited to be your wedding photographer and can’t wait for your wonderful day in store! Going to be such a celebration. :) Xoxo
