They dated for a month or two in seventh grade, then reconnected their sophomore year of high school, which began a love story now almost eight years in the making. Jon brings a calm to any scenario, and Caitlin, a sweet spirit that fits just right. Jon leads Caitlin and looks out for her, and Caitlin respects and loves him in a way that’s apparent even in just spending one evening with them. Together, they fill in each other’s weaknesses and turn them to strengths… making each other whole.

It was just after returning from a missions trip to Peru together that Jon led Caitlin to a nearby park after a sweet July evening out to dinner. As they strolled the park paths, Caitlin soon found herself standing amongst candles and an ornate sign lighting up the night in bright letters reading “Will you marry me?” Coincidentally, fireworks began to go off in the distance as Jon got down on one knee to propose — making a perfect evening that much more magical.
