Ironstone Ranch Wedding: Matt + Katlyn

Wedding

October 3, 2012

They dated in high school for a bit, but eventually went their separate ways. But Matt knew. He knew that Katlyn was the woman that God had for him. And he would wait for her until she knew the same.

One of Matt’s groomsmen, David, spoke in his toast about Matt’s patience in waiting for Katlyn. Matt didn’t date anyone during the time they were apart. David shared a conversation that they frequently had, telling Matt to move on… telling him that there is no possible way that they would get back together… it just wasn’t going to happen.

And yet, little did they know, during that time the Lord was preparing both Matt + Katlyn to promise their forevers to each other.

In His perfect timing, after five years of no contact, Matt + Katlyn got back together. This time was different and this time was forever. So on a beautiful September afternoon, they stood before their closest friends and family holding hands and pledging their love to each other, and their love for Christ and desire to serve and honor Him together through their marriage.

Matt + Katlyn, it was such a joy and honor to get to document your wedding! Thank you for the privilege. It was absolutely beautiful and I am so excited about these images that tell the story of your day. I hope you had the best time in Cancun! Enjoy some of my favorites… XOXO!

The day started with beautiful details. Lace that is a piece of Matt’s grandmother’s wedding gown, a stunning borrowed brooch, and a breathtaking wedding gown…

Not to mention a beautiful bride GLOWING with anticipation for her day ahead…

I loved Katlyn’s mom, Dana, and her calm presence throughout the day. It was so sweet to watch her help Katlyn get ready…

These girls were so fun!

Love this :)

A HUGEEEE thank you goes out to Katie Yuen for second shooting for me! I just loved having her along and getting her amazingly beautiful perspective on the day. For example, while I was capturing this…

Katie was capturing this next one…

Ohhh Katlyn you made my job EASY! ;) Love these next few portraits of you…

The guys were looking sharp…

Nice, guys!!

Matt + Katlyn didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony, however, they DID want to pray together. So this was the result. :)

Ceremony time at the beautiful Lord’s House of Prayer

I love these next two. So much emotion…

As their first act in servanthood to each other as husband and wife, Matt + Katlyn washed each other’s feet…

MARRIED!!

And one sweet exit to celebrate…

There’s something about this shot of Katie’s that I love so much…

Reception time at the BEAUTIFUL Ironstone Ranch. Seriously, stunning.

Loved all these details Katlyn worked so hard on!

Ha, love it!

And some more sunset portraits — some of my faves!

Oh you guys!!

The sunset on a perfect day…

A barn reception? Yes please!

Such awesome toasts!

So instead of Matt + Katlyn automatically kissing every time their guests clinked their glasses, they had a list of couples who were spontaneously chosen to stand up and show them how it’s done. Needless to say, it added lots of laughter to the evening. Here is Katlyn’s grandparents showing what many many years of love looks like. ;)

So much fun!!
