When Ian + Charissa booked me as their wedding photographer, they warned me their wedding was going to be quite different from any I’d ever photographed… why, you ask?! Their pastor was officiating a different ceremony several hours away on that same day, but because he had been a big part of their lives, there was no one else they’d rather have marry them! Love that! With Ian’s Marine schedule, July 5th was one of his few open weekends, so they made it happen — and their pastor officiated TWO weddings in one day!
While Ian + Charissa’s wedding truly was like none I’d ever photographed, it was so perfect for them! I especially loved their day because I got to do my job differently than most weddings I photograph… it was so fun to take a different approach as I captured this day, mainly as a photojournalist.
Ian + Charissa are truly some of the kindest souls, and what I loved most about their day was the emphasis that was put on their desire to have a beautiful marriage. In a world where a wedding DAY can easily become too much of the focus, Ian + Charissa’s desire for simplicity, as well as a ceremony that was Christ honoring, was such a beautiful thing to see. Ian + Charissa had me just feeling so grateful once again to work with such amazing couples and capture such an important piece of incredible stories like theirs!
I+C, THANK YOU! It’s no secret how much I adore you two and how thankful I am for the honor of being your wedding photographer! I hope you enjoy reliving some moments of your sweet day! XO!
