They sat in the same room during sixth grade. Emily was the over-achiever in the first row of their English class raising her hand, answering questions, and perfecting the art of being perfect. That’s my sister, Emily! And Hudson, well, he could be found directly in the last row of the room. She liked him, but a few stolen glances every few minutes would suffice.
Years past and during their sophomore year of high school something happened over AOL Instant Messenger that made them grow to become best friends. Brightly colored text appeared on their computer screens and the overuse of emoticons made their friendship flourish. Hudson wooed her with too-good-to-be-true lines (I still think he had a how-to book), and soon we were shrieking in an adjoining room with girly excitement as Hudson asked our dad for permission to date his daughter. Later that week they left for their first date, a picnic in the park. As Hudson opened the car door for Emily, her parents flashed a smile of approval from their kitchen window, knowing she was in good hands.
Eight years later, they’re still best friends…and soul mates.
We started their session an hour before sunset in the heart of Strasburg. When this was one of my very first frames, I knew I was in for a treat…
For as sweet as H&E can be, they sure know how to work it, too…
Ohhhh, you two!
This set makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside…
HELLO, ADORABLE. Seriously.
I could have photographed these two allllll day… they make my job easy!!
Loving these next two… favorites for sure!
Nothing like kissing in the middle of the street. ;)
After a quick outfit change (and a yummy treat at the Creamery ;) we came back out for a few more. I just can’t get over this light…
AHHHHH, sister you are STUNNING.
Love love love!
That one on the right? The definition of being in love with your best friend.
So this is love…
They make a simple portrait look goooooood.
Pa-leeeeese! I just adore you two!
I’ll end with another favorite… Emily and Hudson, I adore you both and can’t wait to stand beside you in June as you promise forever. Together. The way you love each other so deeply and seek Christ first is something incredible to watch, and I’m so very proud to call you family.
Happy Wednesday!
