He was attending the Naval Academy in Annapolis, when he was introduced to his Marine buddy’s sister. A cute, blonde Texas girl who was as sweet as southern tea, it didn’t take long for Chris to let his intentions be known in wanting to get to know this girl.
However, it quickly became clear to Chris that it was the heart behind this strikingly beautiful woman that caught his attention most of all. He took notice of the dozens of characteristics about Paige he admired, the things he had prayed to find in a wife. In fact, his own words from his initial email to me tells the story better than I ever could, “I love Paige because she is modest, gentle, sympathetic, caring, and she has a good head on her shoulders. Did I say beautiful too? She has a nurturing way about her that will make her a great wife and mother one day. I could go on and on but I love her and can’t wait for her to be my bride.”
Upon Chris’ graduation, he immediately began his service in the Marine Corps. With moves from Maryland to Virginia to North Carolina to California in less than a year, much of their relationship has been long distance; consisting of countless plane tickets, skype dates, and long phone calls. However, there was one visit in particular that would leave Paige totally swept off her feet, when Chris made a surprise stop in Texas on his way to California, taking Paige’s hand in his and kneeling beside her as he asked his girl to be his bride.
Chris + Paige, thank you. Thank you for the example of a Godly relationship that you’ve set for all to see. Thank you for loving each other so deeply. And thank you for welcoming me into this sweet season of your lives to document it. I feel so blessed to have spent the day celebrating with you, and hope you enjoy a few of my favorites that tell the story of your wedding! Xoxo!
How gorgeous is Paige’s stunning Ream Jewelers diamond?! I couldn’t get enough of it!!
Yes, that is duct tape on those shoes! ;) At one of the Navel Academy balls, Paige’s shoe strap broke just before going in. Needless to say, Chris jumped into action, repairing them on the spot! Love that she surprised him by wearing these!!
Having a quiet moment alone sitting in Chris’ childhood room as she read his letter to her…
The face of a girl about to step into her WEDDING DRESS!
How cute is she?!
Meanwhile, the guys were busy getting ready…
Awesome that they were able to FaceTime with one of their good friends that couldn’t make it for the big day. Technology is sweet!
Ohhhhh these daddy/daughter first looks get me every time! Paige and her daddy had the sweetest relationship.
SO grateful to have had Erin along with me second shooting!! Loved her perspective on the day!!
The SKY was incredible!!
Ohhh Paige, you made such a stunning bride. Love that long southern veil, too!
So photogenic. :)
Chris has quite the large group of friends! So awesome that he included them in some photos early on in the day as well.
Lookin’ sharp and ready to get married!
Ceremony time!! This is Chris’ family’s backyard. AMAZING.
Sweetness!
Love this reaction!!
Paige’s facial expression here as her father gives her away is so dear…
Gotta give credit where credit’s due! ;) This phenomenal shot is Erin’s, who climbed a ladder with her camera to make it happen — all Chris’ genius idea! Love it!!
MARRIED! Always my very favorite moment of a wedding day!
There’s something about this candid as they look back at their guests just after their ceremony that draws me in…
Such a fun group!
Ha! What a cutie. Thanks to Erin for grabbing this shot.
Seriously?! Beautiful.
GORGEOUS Paige!
Reception time!! Held in the Hemler barn. Paige planned everything down to the last detail from Texas and then hauled everything to Lancaster for the big day!! Talk about vision!
Awesome moment!
Paige’s Maid of Honor was her twelve year old cousin, Callie. They share a bond like sisters, and her sweet toast to the bride and groom brought both laughter and tears.
Party time! These guests could dance!!
I think every bride and groom should share a quiet moment like this during their reception, just taking in the site of all of their closest friends and family enjoying the evening.
Love!
A final dance of the night…
And then they were OFF to their honeymoon!! Congrats again you two!!
