Mark + Rebecca

Engagement

October 8, 2013

She was a freshman at college, the new girl on the campus. Surrounded by all things fresh and exciting, Rebecca and her group of close girlfriends had made an unspoken pact to live each moment to the fullest. So when these girls caught wind of the rumor around campus of a certain cute guy, they conspired to find any way to have their paths cross. ;)

And as this fairytale love story goes, on the first day of classes, Rebecca happened to pass this Mark Kikendall in the hallway, and later that day found herself sitting next to him in class, sharing a textbook, and eventually exchanging numbers.

Over the next four years, their friendship flourished and a relationship bloomed in both the joys and hardships that walking through life bring. After all these years, of one thing they are certain: there’s no one they’d rather have by their side.

And so, it was a rainy evening that Mark picked Rebecca up for their date-night as usual. But this time, as she hopped in the passenger seat, she immediately noticed a letter for her waiting on the dash. Filled with sweet memories and a few of the thousand and one reasons that Rebecca had shown Mark reason to love her, it brought tears to her eyes. As did the next three subsequent letters he handed to her periodically throughout the evening, confirming Mark’s love for her over and over again — a love that he shows in a way that Rebecca only ever dreamed would be her reality.

Each element of the evening carried special meaning from their dating years and as a perfect evening drew to a close, they returned to the campus they’d walked hand in hand so many times. But one final letter remained, the most significant of all. As they neared the spot they first met, Mark presented her with the final letter of the evening before he got down on one knee and asked Rebecca Bryant to be his wife.

Mark + Rebecca, oh you two! Where do I begin?! Thank you for being so wonderful. Truly. Your unending love for each other is beautiful and such an honor to document — and I can’t WAIT to capture it on your wedding day in June! Until then, enjoy a few of my favorites from your engagement session and enjoy this sweet season of your life! Xoxo!
