As her best friend tells it, Kristen saw him from across the room and gasped. But as Alan & Kristen grew to know each other better, she quickly found it was more than his tall, dark, and handsome looks she found herself falling for. She loved the way he challenged her. The way he always kept her laughing. And the way he led her in a way that made it easy and exciting to follow.
For as much as Kristen was growing to love and respect Alan more deeply with each day they spent together, Alan’s feelings were mutual for this gentle-spirited, incredibly cute, thoughtful, and wise woman who was finding a special place in his heart and life day by day.
And so he prepared and excitedly planned for the day he’d always looked forward to… the day he’d ask Kristen to become his wife. He’d given Kristen a letter every day for a week, then picked her up early on a Saturday morning. He had told her they were going to hang out with one of his friends, but Kristen had her suspicions so willingly agreed, being sure to take extra care as she prepared that morning. ;)
They drove for an hour before arriving to a quaint little mountain town. As they took in the incredible views on that clear day, looking on for miles and miles, Alan handed Kristen one more letter and had her read it aloud. As she finished reading it, she glanced up from the page filled with his carefully handwritten words of love and adoration to find him down on one knee before her, asking her to marry him. And of course, she answered YES instantly without hesitation. It was a perfect day that was so fitting to their relationship – sweet and simple, yet so thoughtfully planned!
Alan & Kristen, I love how comfortable you guys made me feel spending time with you! Thank you for trusting me with these sweet memories – I can’t wait to photograph your upcoming Historic Shady Lane wedding! So much to look forward to! For now, enjoy a few of my favorites from your Hershey Gardens and Hotel Hershey engagement session! Xo
