September 25, 2014
The September day dawned with clear skies and sunshine, but as the day drew on the sky grew darker and the weather radar warned of an impending storm looming. Yet Josh + Kristina kept a positive outlook, soaking in each moment of the morning they’d make their lifetime marriage commitment on this long-anticipated day. But just an hour before the ceremony, lightning lit up the sky before the mountains and the downpours began. It was in that moment, a time of uncertainty as their idealistic outdoor mountain wedding plans were threatened and Josh + Kristina had every reason to show their disappointment, that I caught an ever deeper glimpse of who they truly are.
Choosing joy no matter the circumstance, I don’t think there are sweeter beings than Josh + Kristina. With smiles, real smiles, on their faces, despite the rain, they accepted the present circumstance, and made a decision to see the storm outside their windows as not an ordeal, but an adventure.
Yet just as every storm or tough season in life passes, so did the storm on their wedding day — and Josh + Kristina were able to say their vows outside overlooking the mountains where they’d spent their summers falling in love with each other while working as camp counselors.
Josh + Kristina, it was my honor to be a part of this season of your lives! Thank you for welcoming me in and making me feel like family… your joy brought me joy and I couldn’t be more excited to share these images with you from the sweetest of days! Congratulations you two on your beautiful wedding day and new marriage! I can’t wait to see what adventures and memories are in store for you guys! I hope you enjoy my favorites!
And special thanks to Maddie Broderick for being my second shooter!
