I’m baaaaaaaack! Oh there is SO MUCH to say about how wonderful my little vacay to Florida was for my soul, but the quick recap is…

1. I kind of got a little bit tan which is a huge success in my book.
2. It really is beautiful to do nothing and then rest afterwards. AKA: lay by the pool day in and day out.
3. I want to go back. NOW.

Wanna hear a cruel joke? The day after I returned from a week of picturesque vacationing, I had to sit in a dark, cement-walled classroom for four hours straight taking the SAT’s. Yeah. I don’t think there’s a better way on the PLANET to snap you back to reality. But it’s ok because it’s OVER and I feel good about how it went! Plus, I kind of liked shading in 200+ circles with my #2 pencil… kind of. ;)

This week’s LOVE: Vacation! Duh. And also an adooooorable dress that I bought in Florida. I know, there I go again talking about dresses! While in Florida we went on a quick trip to the nearby outlets and the second I walked into Banana Republic, a dress caught my eye and I was basically, ahem, SOLD.

Seriously, what is it that makes shopping so thrilling? You know the feeling you get when you glance across a store and you see something AMAZING? The moment you see it you know you HAVE TO HAVE IT. Basically, it was made just for you. The color, the shape, the detail… it’s as if your name was delicately embroidered within its layers. You race to the fitting room just to confirm your beliefs. The moment you reach the front of the fitting room line and the employee gracefully breathes “Would you like a fitting room?” Magic. “Yes, thankyouverymuch I would love one.” You’re paraded through the long pathway to a small cubical complete with a full length mirror. You slip the piece on with your eyes tightly closed and then slowly open your eyes to see the results. Perfection. You smile at your reflection in the mirror complimenting yourself on your fine taste. As you leave the dressing room you pass a long line of fellow-customers whose heads snap and necks crane to catch a glimpse of the pretty resting gently in your arms. The cashier daintily folds it up and places it in the most glorious of shopping bags, then thanks you for coming. As she does, you reach across the counter lightly touching her hand as you breath, “No, thank you.”

See what I mean? Oh I’m such a sucker for quality products and a good experience!

Last night I finally got to go see The Lucky One! It’s the story of a Marine who travels to Louisiana searching for the unknown woman he believes was his good luck charm during the war. Man, it was good! But I say that about almost everyone movie I watch… I’m easily entertained. While it can never begin to compare with The Notebook (will any movie ever?), I still liked it!

Wishing you the happiest of Mondays… do something you love today!
