Two years ago today, two people pledged their love to each other in front of their closest friends and family. Words like “soul mates,” “perfect match,” and “Godly couple” were spoken of them throughout the day. Although it was true of them then, those words are ten times more fitting today.

So many of you have followed along with their story. You’ve seen one, two, or even all three of the times that I’ve photographed Ali + Aspen over the past six months. Perhaps you’ve “ooohed” and “ahhhed” over their beauty, and maybe you’ve even whispered a prayer for their family as you remembered Aspen’s Daddy half way across the world protecting and serving our country.

But after nine months of deployment, Ty is HOME. And I cannot tell you what joy it brought me to see these THREE all together two days before Christmas. Ty was deployed when Aspen was just two weeks old. Let me say that again, Ty left to protect you and me… to keep us safe from harm… to courageously serve our country… when his baby girl was two weeks old. THAT is selflessness.

And although they had a long time apart, for Aspen, it’s as if he’s been home all along. She is totally and completely smitten with her daddy!! :)
