She fell quickly for his charm, humor, and unending devotion to those he loved. He adored her unending brilliance + down to earth personality that always made him smile.

They’d been dating for six years when Dan and Grace took a trip to France. On July 14th, Bastille Day, (the equivalent of America’s Independence Day), Dan took Grace to a fireworks show. As they sat surrounded by local Parisians, they picnicked and enjoyed the sunset of another great day together.

As time drew nearer to the fireworks beginning, the crowd began chanting “assis” which means “sit down” in French. Just as the crowd finally sat down, Dan stood up. Grace looked up at him, wondering what he was doing… but she didn’t have to wonder for long. He got down on one knee before her, as the crowd cheered for them and the fireworks started. And right in that moment, across the world from where it all began, Grace said yes to marrying her best friend!
