Mike & Renee

Portraits

April 14, 2017

A few weeks back, I got an email from Mike with the subject line “Present for Renee’s 30th Birthday” and ever since then, I’ve so been looking forward to this day and seeing them again!

I photographed Mike & Renee’s wedding nearly two years ago, and that day will forever remain a favorite. All wedding days are happy, meaningful, and special… but there was just something extra intentional, sacred, and joy-filled found in theirs that I’ll never forget. I knew from that day on that Mike & Renee’s marriage would glorify the Lord in a beautiful way, so to see them again and catch up on all He has been using them for and teaching them in the last two years made my heart like sooo happy!

So YES, to ring in Renee’s 30th year, Mike surprised her with a day of pampering at the spa with her mom and sisters, followed by their anniversary session (husband pointsss)! Renee’s sister, Kristen, just so happens to be my favorite hair and makeup artist ever (Unfading Beauty) so of course when I saw Renee’s (Belle inspired!) look come together I was in awe!

But my favorite reaction of the day was definitely Mike’s. They requested to recreate the first look moment they shared on their wedding day to start our time together and you can bet I was melting while capturing Mike’s face full of love when he saw Renee before him. When I look at these pictures I see deep, lasting love that goes the distance. Mike & Renee, you’re building such a beautiful legacy and I can’t wait till you’re 50 years in and have these to look back on. <3 Xo
