It’s been two years since they stood before their dearest family and friends being pronounced as husband and wife, then sealing it with a kiss. Two years since they swayed back and forth together on the dance floor, holding each other close. Two years since that perfectly rainy October day when they made the best decision of their lives – an unbroken promise to love and to cherish each other to the end of their days.

It’s been two years, yet it feels like forever ago and just yesterday all at the same time since they made that commitment. And if you asked them, they’d tell you that every day just grows sweeter. A bond that felt so passionate, so genuine, and so strong on day one has only grown and strengthened in the seven hundred and fifty eight days that they’ve called each other husband and wife.

I loved seeing the way Shawn + Sami interact as we strolled Downtown Annapolis together on a Sunday afternoon. Shawn is so tender in the way he leads and cares for Sami and he can put a smile on her face in an instant that is so clearly just a genuine overflow of the joy that fills her heart. Sami is a photographer herself, so it was especially an honor for me to document this time in their marriage. My hope is that these photos will be so special now, yet even more meaningful as the years pass and their lives grow and change… that they can look back at these memories and sense the love that they felt then, and see the ways their marriage has grown even stronger since.
