When her uncle met his newest employee, Mike, he immediately started scheming to set Mike up with Sophia, his highly eligible niece. It didn’t take much convincing from either side for a blind date to happen and ironically, upon getting drinks, Mike & Sophia came to find they’d actually been living just two blocks from each other all along, yet their paths had never crossed.

They quickly realized how compatible they were… for Mike & Sophia, things just felt effortless and fell into place so seamlessly. Over the course of their dating years, they enjoyed traveling together, discovering the best hole in the wall Italian restaurants NYC has to offer, and grew to love each other more than either knew was possible.

On June 11th, 2016, Mike & Sophia spent a simple day shopping and brunching around Hoboken, soaking in the sunshine and each other’s company. It was while strolling hand in hand along the Hudson River that afternoon, overlooking a beautiful view of the NYC skyline, that Mike got down on one knee and asked Sophia to be his wife. It was an instant yes as all of the onlookers surrounding them in the park stopped what they were doing and burst into applause. <3

I’ll never forget getting an email from Mike last December… “Sophia is deeply in love with your photography style and skill. I cannot argue against it either, it’s extremely impressive. We’ve been discussing at length if our budget will allow for your services and I’ve made the decision that it is worth the splurge and will be the best investment of our wedding. I would like to surprise Sophia with this for Christmas so please reply back just to me!” WHAAAT. Still one of the greatest honors/favorite surprises I’ve ever been involved in. <3

Needless to say I’ve been counting down to meeting Mike & Sophia at their engagement session and loved that we got to photograph their engagement session at the special place Sophia grew up working and riding horses… Bridge Acres Stable. What a beautiful setting! Thank you again Dave & Helen for having us.

If it was any indication of the beautiful day in store next June for your Excelsior wedding with Your Sweetest Day Events, then I know incredible things are yet to come!
