Demos Desert Tour 2015

Personal

March 19, 2015

When my friend Annamarie asked me to be her travel buddy and visit our friends Amy & Jordan in their hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona before going on to WPPI in Las Vegas, I was ALL IN. No really… I’m pretty sure I said yes right away! I knew immediately that this would be such a fun time, but I don’t think I realized how life-giving it would be, too. Spending a few days exploring AZ with Anna, Amy, Jordan, Katelyn, and Michael was such a special time, filled with so many refreshing conversations. When I take a step back and consider the way God has brought such beautiful, genuine relationships into my life through photography I am overwhelmed! It’s such a gift to be surrounded by friends who totally challenge, encourage, and guide my heart to remain focused on what matters most.

Someone once told me that humility + service = true leadership, and that’s exactly what I see in these dear friends. Yes, their accomplishments are amazing, but their humble hearts that intentionally strive to bring honor and glory to Jesus first and foremost through their businesses is what I find most admirable in them.

We spent the one day exploring Sedona and I’m pretty sure every other sentence we spoke sounded something like “AHHHHH IT’S JUST SO BEAUTIFUL HERE.” We couldn’t get over the red rocks and incredible deserts! It’s a dream! Annamarie was photographing both Amy & Jordan and Katelyn & Michael, and was so kind to let me shoot over her shoulder – who can resist when the scenery is THIS beautiful?!

Anna, Amy, Jordan, Katelyn, Michael… I’m so thankful for your friendship and special place in my life!! Thank you for being faithful friends and beautiful examples to me! And thanks A&J for making us feel at home in the desert… what a week to remember!
