It all started as a conversation over lunch in downtown Charleston. While talking one on one with Hope Taylor about our own unique big dreams for the future, I casually said “Hey Hope, wouldn’t it be fun if one day… years from now… we joined forces to host an event for young photographers? I don’t know what it would look like, but that’d be so rewarding to make happen someday.”

See, Hope and I share something in common. We both got our business license before our driver’s license. And we’ve been wearing the entrepreneur hat since age fourteen. Somewhere between algebra tests and homework assignments we’ve built businesses that have literally grown with us since our teen years. From middle school braces to high school graduations, we’ve poured our heart and soul into building our dreams.

It’s been such a blessing to have someone who shares in that – who knows what it’s like to balance it all. One thing I especially love and admire so much about Hope is how she just has this way of not allowing herself or others to sit on their dreams. Instead, she makes them happen. With passion & purpose. Carrying out her calling unapologetically.

Because of this, my “someday” idea equaled “WHAT ABOUT THIS SUMMER!!” to Hope. And it’s with so much excitement (!!!) that we announce…

The Gathering: a five-hour, content-packed, intentionally-designed event created specifically for young women in business coming August 22nd to Fredericksburg, Virginia.

We have a huge heart for young women in business because of our own personal experience as young entrepreneurs. We can both recall seasons in our businesses where we felt embarrassed by our age – allowing it to make us feel less-than or insecure at times. But, with The Gathering, we want to change that! Our hope (don’t you just love a good pun) is that we will equip and empower young women to pursue their dreams, no matter their age!
